Mason Kaschube
Game AI Programmer
About Me.
Hi there! My name is Mason Kaschube, welcome to my portfolio!

I'm primarily a Game AI Programmer, but I've also done my fair share of design as well. I've designed enemy behaviors and encounters for multiple third-person action-oriented games. I've created tools that help both myself and designers to easily iterate on our game. I've even created my own Behavior Tree architecture for the most recent project I've been a part of. Working with designers and artists, in addition to programmers, has given me a good sense of how to communicate across disciplines and take into consideration the needs of other departments when I work on projects.

When I'm working on a team, I do my best to make sure I know what everyone else is working on and show enthusiasm for it (even if it's way over my head). I've had experiences in the past where I've felt my work went underappreciated or unnoticed and it really killed my desire to work on the project. As a result, I always do my best to make sure everyone else on my team knows their work is valued and appreciated.

I'm not all business, though. When I'm not working, I love to do all sorts of puzzles. Jigsaws, word searches, crosswords; any "old man" puzzles (as some of my friends put it). I also enjoy going on walks and hiking through the beautiful landscapes of the Pacific Northwest. Of course, I also love to play video games. I play a wide range of titles so it's hard to pick my favorite genre, but I always love a good Survival game.

Thank you very much for taking the time to look through my profile and read a bit about me! If you have any questions about any of the projects I worked on, or you want to contact me for any other reason, you can find my information in the Contact page. Thank you again for your visit!
